Problem:
What gas best explains the explosion of the heated aerosol container?
Answer
GayLussacs Law:
States that when temperature increases, pressure also increases when volume and the amount of gas are constant. Pressure is directly proportional to kelvin temperature of gas.
When heat up the aerosol container, liquefied propellant turns into gas and these gases increases its kinetic energy and move faster which results to increase in pressure. As the pressure increases and the container cannot contained the pressure inside, it will explode.
Hope this helps....=)
